1. Chickenpox is a highly contagious illness caused by primary infection with varicella zoster virus (VZV).

9. Chickenpox typically requires no medical treatment however the doctor may prescribe an anti-itching medicine for some relief. But for the most part, the disease is allowed to run its course.
10. One can relieve the itchiness, fever, and discomfort of chickenpox by: taking baths in cool or lukewarm water every 3 to 4 hours for the first few days, patting the body, eating foods that are cold, soft and easily chewable.
