<li>Cholera is an acute diarrhea illness caused by a bacteria {(called Vibrio cholerae) } which causes severe diarrhea and dehydration.<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-453" title="cholera" src="http://www.nashikdoctors.com/wp-content/uploads/cholera1.gif" alt="cholera" width="194" height="68" /></li>
<li>Cholera, is sometimes known as Asiatic or epidemic cholera.</li>
<li>It usually spread through contaminated water.</li>
<li>The risk of cholera epidemic is highest in crowded conditions where large number of people live together without adequate sanitation.</li>
<li>Only about one in 10 infected people develops the typical signs and symptoms of cholera, which include: severe, watery diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, muscle cramps, dehydration, Hypovolemic shock.</li>
<li>Contaminated water supplies are the main source of cholera infection, but they can also be transmitted through raw shellfish, uncooked fruits and vegetables, and other foods.</li>

<li>Dysentery  was formerly known as flux or the bloody flux.</li>
<li>Symptoms of dysentery include frequent passage of faeces,  vomiting of blood, severe dehydration and weakness.</li>
<li>Dysentery is usually caused by a bacterial infection or can also be caused by a chemical irritant or viral infection.</li>
<li>Dysentery is initially managed by maintaining fluid intake using oral rehydration therapy. If left untreated, dysentery can be fatal.</li>
