Acupuncture is getting popular in all countries of the world. Acupuncture is a complete science and not just therapy.

Few of the effects of acupuncture are miraculous. For example, doctors can perform operations with just acupuncture anesthesia. This type of anesthesia (analgesia) has already been used successfully in childbirth and other complicated operations where the Client is preferred to be in the conscious state of mind.

Similarly we can change shape and size of all parts of the body with help of acupuncture. It seems impossible but it can be done.

A technique has been developed to change shape and size of the nose to make it look more beautiful compared to its previous look. This technique is used for hundreds of Clients. This is the first time it is presented as thesis and as a research study.

Every woman wants to look more and more beautiful. Many of the beautiful ladies are not fully satisfied with the look of certain part of their face.

Most of them are not satisfied with shape of nose, some are not happy with the size. That is why almost every woman wants to get plastic surgery on the nose. Rhinoplasty, or nose job as it is called is the most popular plastic surgery performed. Unfortunately the results are not as expected and in more than 60% of cases they have to operate again as corrective Rhinoplasty. Corrective Rhinoplasty is fairly common as even if the doctor has done a good job, chances are that the nose looks better in the picture than on the Client’s face. On the other hand, acupuncture is very reliable in a lot of ways as it works on the belief of making whatever is sub-normal or abnormal in the body, normal. In other words, the Client’s nose will always go well with his/her personality and appearance.

The technique used by this researcher is quick, definite and can be repeated to get the desired effect in same sitting. The technique does not involve any operative procedure, it is safe and without side effects. The good effect is seen immediately and there is no painful waiting period.

Acupuncture is a 5000 years old medical science from china. It may have evolved from Marma science of India. It was practiced thousands of years ago in India and Sri Lanka.

Bodily beauty can be defined as the deeply pleasurable experience of someone else’s or one’s own body.  Bodily beauty can be perceived through any of the five senses, and may be concerned with parts of the body, the whole body, or movements. Usually, however, beauty of the body refers to the visual impression of someone’s body as a whole.

Beauty: is a characteristic of a person, place, object or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning or satisfaction. Beauty is studied as part of aesthetics, sociology, social psychology and culture. As a cultural creation, beauty has been extremely commercialized. An “ideal beauty” is a person who is admired, or possesses features widely attributed to beauty in a particular culture.

The earliest Western theory of beauty can be found in the works of early Greek philosophers from the pre-Socratic period, such as Pythagoras. The Pythagorean School saw a strong connection between mathematics and beauty. In particular, they noted that objects proportioned according to the golden ratio seemed more attractive. Ancient Greek architecture is based on this view of symmetry and proportion. Modern research also suggests that people whose facial features are symmetric and proportioned according to the golden ratio are considered more attractive than those whose faces are not.

Acupuncture treatment can bring about small corrections in shape and size to make the face more beautiful.

Symmetry is also important because it suggests the absence of genetic or acquired defects. The very principle of yin and yang in acupuncture can deal with small asymmetry in any part of body.

The Greeks said that all beauty is mathematics. If that is true then perhaps there is a mathematical code, formula, relationship or even a number that can describe facial beauty.

This particular relationship is the “Golden Ratio“. It is a mathematical ratio that seems to appear recurrently in beautiful things in nature as well as in other things that are seen as “Beautiful”.The “Golden Ratio” is a mathematical ratio of 1.618:1, and the number 1.618 is called “Phi“.Many things found in nature have parts that are in a ratio of 1.618:1

Phi is a mysterious number which has some related quantities and shapes, and it appears in the proportions of the human body, and other animals’, in plants, in DNA, in solar system, in art and architecture, in music, etc. this topic has extended to the determination of the origin of facial attractiveness.

Dr. Stephen Marquardt, a former plastic Researcher, has used the golden section and some of its relatives to make a mask that he claims that is the most beautiful shape a human face can ever have, it used decagons and pentagons as its function that embodies phi in all their dimensions. Dr. Marquardt has been studying on human’s facial beauty for many years. According to him, beauty can be defined as a mechanism to ensure humans recognize and are attracted by others. The most beautiful faces are just are the ones that are the most easily recognizable as human. Many experiments support the average ness hypothesis.

Characteristic features of the female “beautiful face” in comparison to the “not beautiful face”:

• Slightly bigger distance of eyes
• Darker, narrower eye brows
• More, longer and darker lashes
• Higher cheek bones

Most of the research projects have contributed to better understanding of the concept of beauty.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world. Acupuncture originated in China more than 5,000 years ago, making it one of the oldest and most commonly used medical procedures in the world. The research of my guru, Dr. sir Anton Jayasuriya proves that acupuncture was originated from south India and Sri Lanka.

The term acupuncture describes a family of procedures involving stimulation of anatomical points on the body by a variety of techniques. Practices of acupuncture incorporate medical traditions from China, Japan, Korea, and other countries. The acupuncture technique that has been most studied scientifically involves penetrating the skin with hair-thin, solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation.

Medical Acupuncture is the treatment for diseases, disorders and abnormalities in physical, psychological and emotional systems. Acupuncture is the treatment therapy, which has six definite good effects.

Analgesic effect: This is the pain-reducing effect. It is so powerful that even major operations can be performed under acupuncture analgesia.

Calming effect: It is easy to calm the mind with acupuncture. One can easily attain serenity and meditation like calmness.

Psychological effect: Acupuncture also cures all psychological problems. It can also change habits to improve behavior.

Immunity enhancing effect: Disease preventing & disease curing power of the body can be increased with acupuncture treatments. Also muscles in athletes.

Motor recovery effect: Acupuncture helps regaining the lost functions of muscles. This is useful in paralysis and post-operative recovery. It can be used to increase strength of muscles.

In cases of diabetes catgut therapy on ear acupuncture point can enhance function of pancreas and make the Client almost normal.

Knee replacement can be avoided with acupuncture O/A technique. The treatment gives immediate relief from pain and inflammation. Within 3 to 6 treatments, the Client will be 80% cured.

In cases of paralysis there is dramatic effect in 3 days.

Depression can be reduced and mental state made normal in 3 days.

For this thesis I have selected nose beautification as a subject. Before describing the nose in detail, we will need know more about Acupuncture.

IDEAL SHAPE OF THE NOSE

The “ideal” nose is a nose that is in harmony with the other favorable features of your face. The “ideal” shape for a male or female nose is an aesthetic concept that has its roots in our perception of beauty. This cannot be completely boiled down to lines and numbers — there is always an indescribable “artistic” element. However, by studying beauty, and faces that are universally felt to be beautiful, artists and plastic Researchers have arrived at some guidelines or proportions that represent the “aesthetic ideal.” Leonardo da Vinci was among the first to make such studies of beauty and aesthetic proportions. What follows are the lines and measurements that facial plastic Researchers have in their heads as a guideline to the aesthetic ideal. These lines, numbers and measurements exist; and are useful for the plastic Researchers as guidelines.

Hypothesis of How Acupuncture makes nose beautiful

Acupuncture works at “chi” level that is Bio energy level. This bio energy circulates through 12 meridians to keep the whole body & all body functions in perfect Balance.

There are more than a 1000 Acupuncture points, which have definite effect on body part or functions when stimulated by Acupuncture treatment. There is no modern medical explanation of how Acupuncture works. But it definitely works.

Acupuncture is a science and a super skill. Only skilled and gifted acupuncturist will be able to produce miracle like results.

“ Beautification of nose is brought about by relaxing permanently contracted muscles of nose and contracting the lethargic muscles”

This is hypothesis put forward by the researcher. More research is necessary to prove it absolutely right.

CONCLUSION

Acupuncture treatment by skilled acupuncturist can beautify the nose of any client by changing it’s size and shape, also by relaxing and contracting certain muscles of the nose.

METHOD

Client is well informed about Acupuncture Medical System.

Client is shown filliform needles, and aqua-puncture needles, which are used for the treatment.

Client is assured that there will be minimal pain and discomfort but very amazing result.

Client is made to lie down on a table.

Client is covered with a bed sheet.

The beautician Acupuncturist swiftly put needles on specific points around and on the nose and also one point on hand (Hoku).

After a few minutes the needles are taken out and disposed off.

The nose is then covered with cotton and manipulated to the proper shape.

An antibiotic ointment is put on the nose and massaged.

Client is asked to sit and get down from the table.

Client is congratulated for the beautiful nose and a lovely looking face.

Client is advised not to touch the nose for least for 1 hour.

Client is instructed to contact the Acupuncturist in case of any pain, discoloration or swelling.
